In Team 2, we have been exploring The Industrial Revolution in History and how Britain was changed before, during and after this time. In Art, we have been looking at art by L. S Lowry and his paintings of scenes of life in the industrial districts of North West England in the mid-20th century. We have looked at the colours and techniques used by Lowry to inspire our own artwork based on an Industrial Landscape scene.
We have used water colours to create the background for our artwork, thinking carefully about our colour choices to convey the right mood and tone. We have then used polystyrene to cut and create our own stamp of buildings and factories to lay over the top of our backgrounds. We have tried to create the effect of crowded buildings and atmosphere of industrial life in our art work - check out our fabulous artwork below!
