Today's English is our SPAG session. (Spelling Punctuation and Grammar)

WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU SPAG WORK FROM TODAY. PLEASE EMAIL A PHOTO TO YOUR CLASS TEACHER.

Year 1 SPAG - Today we are focusing on using capital letters at the start of sentences. Have a look at this power point presentation all about spotting when to put a capital letter at the start of a sentence. Then, have a go at completing this sheet.

You may find it useful to look at this alphabet strip, which shows the matching capital and lowercase letters.

Year 2 SPAG -

Today we are looking at expanded noun phrases.

An expanded noun phrase adds more detail to the noun by adding one or more adjectives.

Noun: a person, place or thing.

Adjective: a word that describes features of a noun.

Watch this video before you look at the PowerPoint.

Now take a look at these slides and have a go at answering the questions.

Finally, work through the expanded noun phrases on this sheet. Remember to think about punctuation and to use appropriate adjectives that would describe the nouns.

SPAG Challenge: Try and write some expanded noun phrases about your favourite toy or pet. Remember to punctuate them correctly!
