Year 1 Maths 1.2.21

Today in maths we are focusing on counting to 50 by making tens.

Use the 'Big Numbers' song to get you warmed up and ready to start today. Click here and get ready to join in.

Now have a look at this video.

You could click here for the power point slides if you would prefer to go at your own pace.

Remember to share your ideas and answers with a grown up.

Finally, I would like you to do the activity which is explained at the end of the video / power point.

Practise counting up to 50 by making 5 sets of 10 using objects from around your home. For example you could use pasta, cars, Lego bricks, beads, books etc

Grown ups: ensure that your child is correctly saying the next ten number eg 29, 30 / 39, 40. You could use this number grid to 50 to support their counting.

Extension challenge: Can you write out all of the numbers to 50 to go with your sets of objects?
